Bad battery saga

Several weeks ago, I posted about my propane detector going off from the hydrogen given off by a shorted battery. I replaced the battery and the problem appeared to be solved. However, when I went to turn on a TV, it was dead. I checked the inverter and the GFI was tripped. Reset it and the TV came on for 5 minutes and then shut down. Two out of 3 TVS have the same problem. They randomly turn off and on by themselves. Tried plugging them into shore power, thinking that the inverter may have intermittent output. Same problem on shore power. They are Samsung TVs, so I went to their website. Turns out that there is a known problem with bad capacitors in the power supply causing this issue. Now I'm trying to figure out how much of this is related and which came first, the chicken or the egg. Anyone ever seen anything simular or is this merely coincidence?
