Your local fabric store will sell you GROGRAIN ribbon by the foot ... it will make an excellent strap ... use a candle to melt the end to prevent unravelling ... then double the end over and install you snap there ...
I have used this to make anchors to hold my bikes in the back of my SUV ... I am sure it will work to hold you doors in place ...
My coach also has the pocket door, and I just didn't like using the strap, so I attached a 5" velcro stips on both the front and rear of the door and on the wall inside for when the door is in the pocket and another strip in the framing of the wall the door closes against.
Works great and no straps hanging in the hall.
