If you want to have ANY chance of folks being able to help you you will need to provide full info about the Year, Make, Model, and Size of the RV you're talking about (like the '2005 Winnebago Vectra 36RD' description of my RV in my signature)--without that folks won't have a clue what you are talking about.

Well, that cuts it down some but still leaves a lot of different fans.

Ceiling fans, vent fans, fans on the radiator, fan on the air conditioner, or fans at the windshield? Are they 12VDC fans or 110AC fans? If you are unsure of the name, tell us where they are located.

I would first want to check that power was getting to the fan and if it is turned on, I would want to check there was a path back to ground as well.

But fans have lots of things that may keep them from running. Switches, relays, wiring? But we have no way to know where to begin to look if we don't know what you are working on.

I'm guessing the fans on the chassis A/C condenser in the left rear of the coach. The engine should be a rear radiator and the coach A/C should be in the right rear side.

floridabob,

what happened that you replaced them, mine have started tripping the circuit breaker, which severely affects the cooling output.

Well, we neverfound what fanthe OP was talking about and it looks like we still have the same questionson your post!

Some fans that we might think you mean:
Two fans near the windshield?
Fan on the automotive air conditioning?
Fan on the coach Air conditioner?
Fan that cools the motoron the airconditioner?
Fans at the back for the radiator cooling?

Too much guessing to even start!
If we knew where they are located, we could begin to guess which fans???

Good info on what we need to look at on the question. I found it on drawings to show where the wires go and what they do! Those are the AC and radiator cooling fans!

But I might ask how they are running.

Is only one fan running and one not?
If both are not running, I would suggest checking a breaker and a relay that sends power to both fans.

OR if you have a meter to check for voltage and ground there are places to check that.

There should be wire ID stamped on the wire sides like this.
This list gives what each wire does:

At the breakers this is the correct one to check . This drawing is looking from the back side,so we have to turn it around in our mind. Top right on this drawing will be top left when we look at the front!!!
The correct one for the fans is the top left breaker in the "front electrical box" ??? Do you know where that is found?

Click these snips to get a better view!

If this breaker is okay, it may also be a relay that is shown here:

The little triangles are notes,4 and 9 to help find the relay and other part.

To check each motor by putting battery and ground on one at a time, you might run a wire from a battery to the plug from each motor and see if they will run when connected directly to positive and negative of battery!

That's a lot of info to sort at one time but a place to start if you want to look at the wiring before changing the motor. There are a lot of small things that may fail before the motor, so I like to check the small (cheaper?) stuff to make sure it is working before going to all the trouble to find the big stuff!

Maybe you can get lucky and just find the breaker tripped?

Good luck and let us know what you find??

No. Getting new fans does not seem right at this time. They are the most expensive part and yet they are also the least likely part of that cooling system to fail.

To prove if they are good or not, I would find a way to connect a wire, like a lamp cord from some point that has 12VDC battery and a ground like a point on the metal RV frame, to the wires coming out of the fins. It looks like they have a plug a short distance from the fan where you could connect the wires just long enough to see they will turn.
Can you tell me if there is a plug there and then we can try to find a point to connect a wire to the plug?

How did you find they were not running? Did something fail or get hot? They look like they will have several small parts along the connections and one of those may be a thermostat which tells them when to run.
If there is a thermostat that tells them to run when it gets hot, we have to know when it is doing that before we can test that power is or is not getting to them.
If we check for power getting to them, it may simply be that the thermostat is not wanting them to run.
Like a thermostat at home that doesn't tell the furnace to run?

Have you checked the breaker is not tripped?
