Leveling jacks

My right rear jack only retracts about 4 inches. Any suggestions why?

Let's start at the beginning... what year, model and floorplan RV are you asking about?

I know your mind is centered on the stuck jack - but to have any chance of offering help we have to start with the info above. And, we'll need that info every time you post here asking for help or info.

I'm guessing you mean a 2011 Adventurer 35F is that correct? Or is it some other model.

What model leveling system do you have a HWH, a Kwikie, or some other brand? The more info you provide us the easier it is to give you help.

Great. Knowing its a Vista and has HWH jack - and I saw your slide post too.

These could be related.

The jack issue can be a number of things - a sticky solenoid on the right rear jack could be the problem, among other things.

You have a Leveling System Operator Manual in your InfoCase. And your Operator's Manual says to refer to that manual for troubleshooting and manual retraction steps.

Quote:
NOTE: If the Leveling Jacks should fail to
retract, see the MANUAL JACK
RETRACTION section of the Leveling
System Operator’s Manual included in
your InfoCase

Looking at records from previous owner, 2 Jack's & 3 pressure switches replaced in 2020. Would pressure switch cause this. The jack raises but will only retract a few inches

It could be a jack issue, a pressure switch or solenoid or a few other things.

We have a member that works or did for HWH. I don't know his name. Someone will come along with more info.

In case you don't have a Operator's manual, here's a like to one online:

The last time I used it that cylinder went up real slow. If I could find out what part I need could fix myself. I could try solenoid and pressure switch ,wouldn't hurt to have a spare if it isnt.

Obviiously, there is only so much we can do to troubleshoot via online.

Forums don't generally provide instant answers it can take a few days before enough people see your post and get a chance to respond.

I haven't had the pleasure of having leveling jack failures... yet. So, I'm really only relying on responses I've seen on other posts.

The HWH leveling system has been used on many older motorhomes of many different brands. I suggest you start a thread on www.irv2.com. This forum is a spin off of IRV2 and that forum has hundreds more members and visitors every day than we do. You maybe able to get a quicker response from posting there.

Great news. Sometimes the simplest solution is the best answer.

JohnA. the model number of your leveling system is not an AP number, Use this quick ID pdf to determine your model number.
Almost everything you want to know will be on this HWH FAQ page.
Want an operators manual for your model?

The quickest way to obtain a service manual is to just run a search for, HWH model xxx service manual. HWH has the most complete online information about their products than any other company in my opinion.

Perhaps the single-most important thing to remember about HWH hydraulic system is, never add hydraulic jack oil to the reservoir.
