I found out about FL factory cheap coolant (pink) from a Freightliner dealer..It has barely a 2 year life and I believe the major reason so many heater cores are corroding thru on the 2001,2002and 2003 Journeys as most owners believe they have ELC coolant and don't test it the first 2 years.
I switched to Fleetguard Compleat ELC (blue) which is a Cummins coolant because I couldn't find Cat DEAC in my area...No problems so far and use the Cummins test strips to test the SCA level....RKL

My wife is a FEW years younger than I am and wants to continue travelling when I am no longer able or by herself. I thought the diesel would be the lowest maintenance of all because of the longevity of the engine/transmission even with the higher maintenance costs but, starting to think differently after reading all these posts. I know she can not keep up with the complexity of maintenance issues on her own and am seriously considering a class C, after I put a few miles on the new tires-ha.

For those of you that use the CAT ELC it has Molybdates and the ELC that Freighliner uses in your coach when built does not...I was told not to mix the two
