We just removed ours which were 2 years old. They started with a slow leak and went down hill from there. The tire shop we use will not install them and recommend that we replace them every year if we kept them. Not worth the risk for us.

This is the first bad report I've read. Are they Borg rigid extended valves or another brand? My Borgs have been installed since late 2017 and I've never had a problem. It's important to install the hard rubber inserts to stabilize them.

If you use extenders, I recommend using tire pressure monitors. The extenders can leak and can fly loose from wheel cover clamps (happened to me). The adjacent tire in the dually supports the full load and will likely have a catastrophic failure a few days or weeks after you have fixed the extender on the other tire.

Screw on extenders, yes. This thread is about rigid, metal, extended valve stems that replace your existing valve stems. They're mounted in the rims like your original stems.
