Over Cap seam 2018 Minnie Winnie 22M

What do you call the (seam, joint, seal?) that is visible through the windshield on the underside of the over the cab portion of the RV? Ours has a gap that is wider in the middle than on the ends. As far as we can tell no water is entering, but it doesn't look right.

Greetings Lunatic1,
This is the first I have heard of this problem. While the joint has no name of which I am aware, the sealant used upon it is found through these links:
https://www.winnebago.com/owners/own...s-and-diagrams
and then specifically here:
https://www.winnebago.com/Files/File.../000210036.pdf
The above file is for the 22R, because the 22M sealant image ghosts-out the bunk nose cap.
Here is the 22M's sealant image:
https://www.winnebago.com/Files/File.../000035334.pdf
The sealant used on the nose cap is:
Sealant C = 185987-03-CHT
or
Sealant E = 094401-04-000
Because two different sealants are specified, I would go to a dealership and ask them if one would be better in the overhead application, should it be necessary for you to re-seal the area. I would also ask them if they have seen this issue before.
Welcome to the forum.
Eagle5

Same issue

I have a similar issue, but could not find water intrusion. Typical water area around marker lights etc are good. And the area feels solid. I re-sealed the gap and pushed the sealant into the gapped area.

I have a 2019 Minnie Winnie 31G with the same issue. We purchased it in March of 2018 and I noticed the gap in 2019. After removing the original sealant and trim piece I found a couple broken screws. I repaired the screws and resealed with Manus-Bond 75-AM. Within a year the joint opened back up. I haven't done anything else to it since. I have an appointment at the end of July at the factory and that is one of the things I am going to have them look at.

I don't know specifically about the Winnebago products, however, most Class Cs have a foam seal or even two that go between the body of the camper and the remaining portion of the cutaway van. The cap is typically held in place by a screw run through from both sides. Not a particularly good connection in my opinion. In the ones I have rebuilt over the years, we put bolts in place of the screws. Some manufacturers will put a sealant at the outside edge others won't.
