1993 Brave 27RC Overheating issues

My rig sometimes overheats, mainly when city driving when I get close to parking it (240 degrees plus). I have checked the system for level multiple times and got the air out. I plan to do a coolant system flush, thinking maybe the radiator has sediement and replace thermostat, has anyone had issues with this? Not sure what the spec temp. is for the thermostat but I plan to buy the lowest temp one I can find? Also is it dangerous to run straight antifreeze? I dont have to worry about freezing necessarily I live in Tucson and travel locally where its usually hot as hell. Any input is appreciated!! Side note I have a functional Aux. fan too.

Use Simple Greene Extreme (it's aluminum-safe) per directions to clean the radiator fins(exterior) of dirt and oils. When was the radiator hoses last replaced and the thermostat? Do both at the same time if you haven't already.
Another factor can be the automatic transmission. The fluid and filter should be changed, as inefficiency can cause it to overheat, which in turn can add heat to the engine cooling system via the A/T heat exchanger inside the engine radiator.
