Brake Indicator when moving toad to a new vehicle

I replaced my trusty Honda fit for a 2022 Jeep Wrangler.

I installed the new towing wire harness, tow bar, and am in process of reinstalling the stay and play brake system on the Jeep.

Question I have now is that the new stay and plays seem to have a remote light that signals when the brakes are applied rather than the LED light like I have. I can understand why that would be good. But the kit for that is $269. Clearly it isn't required. But, there must be a simpler way to do this since it is a circuit that would get triggered in the toad and need to signal something in the front of the motorhome. it isn't really brake specific.

Also, for the jeep do I need a brake relay? In my honda I have to have a switch to turn on things to keep the system from draining the battery since the car was on.

Any thoughts?

I added a fused wire to my old Jeep to keep the battery charged. I also drive semis. Just do a thorough pre tip inspection to include, pulling the key out of the breakaway switch, and watching the brake pedal, apply the brakes. I am not sure the brake lights come on, I really need to check that. I did not install the led strip, on mine. The only problem I have had, is when my size 11W, boots kicked the adjustable knob loose. “I drive the front, the rear will take care of itself.”

Don’t know about your setup HOWEVER Roadmaster has an infrared module attaches to Jeep brake pedal powered by Toad battery which is hardwired thru 7 pin for real time brake actuated signal. I wasted much time and effort trying the mechanical method, the electronic sensor method SIMPLE!
7 pin probably has a 20 amp circuit from tow vehicle. I tow 4fr Wrangler sea level to 9,000 ft mountains, very satisfied.

I wonder if I can make this system work with my demco stay-N-play. I am not sure the price will look, my guess it is similar price to the demco solution.
