Astoria/Seaside/Cannon Beach OR trip report

Back to the beach! Here’s our trip report of our visit to the Oregon coast in September.

Hi Al & Deb,
You guys really write wonderful reports. It is amazing that the Peter Iredale still is above the surface of the sand, even after 114 years. Pretty much all shipwrecks on the Long Beach Peninsula are now below the surface of the sand; never to be seen again.
The Astoria Column being closed isn't all that bad. I have acrophobia, and believe me, the height of that tower is scarier than a Trick-or-Treater WITHOUT a mask. They still have an Internet Connection you can get next to their gift shop too.
Another great place to eat in Astoria is The Bowpicker. Lots of folks buy the True Cod or Salmon, but for me, I just go for the Halibut (ha-ha-ha). Do you know what new jokes cost these days?
Thanks, Eagle5

Thanks, Eagle5! Loved your comment! Not much of the ship is left, but still above the sand. We really loved visiting the column for the amazing views even from the ground, but I would have definitely climbed to the top if it was open...And thanks for the tip on the restaurant! I can’t wait to travel normally again at some point in the future — including eating indoors for the halibut! : )
