Different strokes for different manufacturers (folks), and even then there may be variances between years of manufacture. As stated, read the manual.
I have Kwikee jacks. (Now owned by HWH) and the manual for mine state to have the engine running. Now, consider that I run the engine to activate the slide. Pulling into camp it is jacks down, slides out - with engine running. Leaving camp it is slides in, jacks up with engine running. While the slides come in, one at a time, the jacks are still down, and there is no air being pumped. That suggests to me that there is a solenoid that may keep the air bags from inflating when the jacks are down. Once I raise the jacks, the air bags inflate.
So, read the manual, or call the company. Things can be different in this world we live in.
Happy trails.
