Hi, need help deciding if it is okay to fill with shells or rocks? It will be for my WD1710, so 3,000lbs and I will insert 2x6 lengthwise for tires to rest on. I am going to tamp down dirt and cover with plant screen.
Not able to have concrete pad due to being near property line.
Any suggestions on rock or shell?
The 2 x 6s may be OK but you might want to consider some sort of outdoor non-organic mat (maybe something made from recycled tires) for your tires to rest on. If this perforated for drainage, all the better.

That's a good idea. Tractor Supply sells those rubber mat things.
I used 12X12 concrete pavers to extend my drive due to it being close to my septic tank and not wanting to risk heavy equipment. I used ground treated 4X4 to lock it all in. The finished pad was 12'X10' not including the 4" of wood. It took me a couple of days to dig out, set the road base and pavers. I had thought of a gravel base or other loose fill but didn't like the way it ends up outside the pad area. The pavers also allow for it to be removed or extended as needs change.

I'd agree with blueridge-fl go with crush gravel or road cruch as its sometimes known. Good luck...
Looks good! Forum software does not rotate images during the upload process. The reason your photo would appear this way is because the photo was taken vertically and the image file itself is in this orientation. Is it a cellphone pic?
