Winnebago View Converter

Has anyone installed a Progressive Dynamics Charger/Converter in a Winnebago View? I'm replacing my original converter a Parallax 7345.

Yes I did it when I had a 2010 View...was fairly easy to do.

The PD4645 dimensions (13.25" x 5.38" x 8") are a little bigger than my existing Parallax 7345 (12" x 4.75" x 7.25"). It is supposed to be a replacement for the 7345 but ??

Not apples to apples but I installed a Parallax 8345 (newer version of yours) in my rig to replace the original 25 year old unit; The inch difference in depth meant relocating my air compressor and water pump. Look and measure first to save possible headaches. Whats behind the old one? Can you enlarge your opening without disrupting something that might not take kindly to disruption?

Its an easy in and out replacement. The 12v fuse panel replacement is the most time consuming part. I re-routed a couple of the wires, and had to open a different knockout in the box and plug the old one. I didn't have to, but I'm picky about a neat job and wanted the wiring to flow and fit without any future problems.

I spent most of a day doing this, but if you were pressed and have a good collection of tools, you could do it in a couple of hours, but I highly recommend taking your time.

It appears you have the same year as I have, Mine is an H, is yours and H, J or B (fairly rare)? Might add a signature so everyone will know without having to go to your profile.

Disconnect shore power and coach batteries when you do this.

Charles

My concern was the dimensions appear to indicate the PD4645 is larger and may not fit in the hole the Parallax 7345 is in. I'll call Progressive today.

Called Progressive and they said it would fit. The measurements of theirs includes the mounting flanges.

PD4645 Install

I installed the PD4645 Converter/Charge assembly and it is an exact fit for the replacement of the Parallax 7345.

The dimensions that spooked me are not the measurements of the PD4645 box that slides in the hole the 7345 came out of. Those dimensions on Progressive's web site include the mounting flanges and are not of the box itself.
