Journey Smart Steering Wheels 2005-2007

I am shopping for a 2005-2007 Journey 36G with the Cat 350 and notice that Freightliner appears to have changed the steering wheels in 2007. Can anyone tell me what control functions the 2005-6 Smart Steering Wheels had and how those functions may have been lost/moved in 2007? Thanks

On my 2005 Vectra the SmartWheel has Cruise Control and Headlight flash on the left, Wiper Control and Clearance Light flash on the right.

You are correct. My 2007 Itasca Meridian 36G (same as Journey) with the CAT 350 has no controls on the steering wheel (except the horn of course).

Just fyi, the 2005 Journey Brochure shows the same SmartWheel that I have in my 2005 Vectra (pictured in my previous posting).

Pages 5-3 thru 5-5 of the 2005 Journey Operator Manual describes the operation of the SmartWheel (with pictures).

Unless I completely missed it, the 2007 Journey Operator Manual doesn't address how the Cruise Control or Wipers are operated or whether it possible to flash the headlight or clearance (ICC) lights.

Interesting. The Smart Wheel seems like a great design.
I wonder why it was discontinued. Thank you everyone for
your responses.
