Jim-

I could be incorrect, but that radio appears to have the "standard" DIN holes on left and right edges. Here is a link to a DIN toolkit you can buy. I've been known to substitute coat hanger wire (I know, what's a coat hanger?), finish nails and icepicks; each of these may push the clips open, but none have those "fingers" at the end that let you get a grip on the unit to pull it out, which the DIN tools have.

As I said, I could be incorrect about this, entirely..

Thanks for the info. I cut four wires out of steel wire and tried to get it to release but to no avail. My friend up the road has one of those sets but he's north at the cabin for the long weekend.

Since it is a new install, is there any chance this note might be a factor?
Maybe a call to the install folks?

I don't have a new one yet. I'm still trying to get the old one out and if need be order a replacement.
