2012 Journey 36M Radio/Rearview Monitor System 6.5" LCD doesn't work.

We purchased a new to us 2012 Journey with only 17500 miles on it but the "RV Radio®/Rearview Monitor System 6.5" LCD", lights up, but doesn't work. It gives messages like , "no camera input", and no sound comes from the speakers. I suspect that it could be something disconnected in back, but I have no idea how to get it out.
HELP!

Has anyone replaced this unit and if so, with what?

We really like the unit and are just getting used to it.

Be aware that Winnebago seems to change in dash radio/infotainment systems pretty frequently. Which one does the 2012 Journey have?

Can you tell us the brand and model of radio you are asking about? Also a photo would be a help showing the monitor/radio you have?

OK, that helps a bunch.

What I think is that a previous owner changed out the factory Voyager branded system. Your Operators manual shows a different Monitor and controls.

Your RV has two optional systems. I'll put a photo of one below and the other is a SONY unit that looks very different and says SONY in large letters.

The best way to deal with radio, monitor, etc issues is to go to a Car Audio installation shop - or get a mobile car audio tech to come to you. They will know exactly how to remove your current system and how to get the various functions working.

Here's the Voyager camera/radio in your Operator's Manual:

No, it was listed as an additional upgrade and the previous owner said it was what they ordered it with. Even Winnebago acknowledged, it but said it was no longer in stock. I'm just trying to find a replacement.

OK, I did some more looking - I found a 2012 Journey brochure with this unit in the photos.

Why this isn't mentioned in your Operator's Manual I don't know.

See, a "RV Radio®/Rearview Monitor System 6.5" LCD" search doesn't turn up any info about the brand. If you could learn more about what the system is, then the easier it will be to find a replacement.

I got my answer.

After a lot of research and talking to a lot of folks I now know what to do. Now to do it.
Just for anyone else who experiences this problem, here is the vital info.

In 2012 the RV Radio®/Rearview Monitor System 6.5" LCD was an upgrade option in the Journey. Winnebago no longer stocks replacements and didn't know if there was one.

There is a replacement from the same vendor, River Park Radio. It is part #125XS90111FKT01 and sells for $989.00.

The next problem was how to remove the old radio to see if it was properly connected, but I couldn't find a way to remove it, so I again called Winnebago. They told me to get two plastic putty knives, slide one in on each side and slowly work the radio out. I'll give that a try later today.

River Park assured me that the replacement would also work with my rear view camera as well as the side turn signal cameras. An all in one unit.

If I pull the old unit out and everything is connected as it should be, then I'll need to order the new unit.

Well, I was wrong again. I tried what Winnebago told me but that isn't they type mounting rack that I have. The search continues.

One of the big problems with getting folks to answer is the confused info we are getting on exactly which RV you have.
It may not seem obvious to you but each RV is put together differently in small ways and before we can begin to look at how to take the dash apart we have to know WHICH RV!

So we get different info from you when we look at different places?
On your post, it says you have a 2012 Journey 36DL

Winnebago posts the drawings online by year first, model and floor plan next but they do not list any 2012 Journey 36DL?

Name:   36DL.jpg
Views: 204
Size: 24.3 KB

So we all make mistakes like typos as being a common thing. So we go to your profile info and find different info as you list a 2002 Journey 36 DL ?

But that is not one Winnebago knows about either?

When you can't tell folks what you have, it's hard to figure out what is needed!
So what do folks who would try to help often do?
After a certain amount of chasing around on somebody else's problem, I decided it was not one for me to worry about!

But the bigger problem is likely to be that somebody has already changed the radio and that means it may have a different mounting system!

Echoing Morich (Richard)... I went back through all of your posts and ever since you started posting about this RV you have detailed it as a 2002 Journey 36 DL.

So, as an FYI you should know that this is NOT your motorhome's actual model.

See the Journey DL was a completely separate line in the Winnebago lineup. There was a Journey, a Journey Express and like yours, a Journey DL. Presumably the "DL" stood for "Deluxe" as in a Journey Deluxe.

There are two 36' models in the 2002 Journey DL model line. As shown in Richards post above a "36GD" and a "36LD."

It helps us look up info on your motorhome if we know exactly which of these you have. So, you either have a 2002 Journey DL 36GD or a 2002 Journey DL 36LD.

Only you can tell us which model you have. Looking back through 10-years of posts here you've never mentioned the exact model info. So, if you could clear this up once and for all we'd be able to give you some more info about your issue.

If you yourself don't know exactly which model you have - the 36GD or the 36LD - there is an easy way to determine which it is. On the wall next to the driver's seat is a paper placard that lists all pertinent info about your motorhome. This placard will tell you EXACTLY what your model info is for your motorhome.

If you could check that and get back to us - or take a photo and post it in this thread that could certainly clear this up.

PS. I left your 2012 model year typo in your original post, but corrected the model year in the title.

Well perhaps you should look at my signature more closely. We no longer have the 2002 Journey, but now own a 2012 Journey 36M, and no, the radio has not been replaced. I've talked to Winnebago on two occasions and they confirm that it is the original radio. River Park also confirms it.

The problem is no one remembers how to remove it.

Just for clarification I will visit my profile and get it updated. Some of you folks just think you're so much smarter and just have to look for obvious mistakes.

And yes, I did label this thread wrong.

It should be a 2012 Journey 36M.

My bad.

Sorry for being confused about your RV model. We’re just trying to help you.

As to removing your system? If I needed to remove mine I’d get a car audio installer to remove it. They know how these things are installed.
