2011 Adventurer
We are considering purchasing a 2011 Adventurer 35P. Any comments, suggestions or warnings would be appreciated.

We have a 2011 Itasca Suncruiser with 11,000 miles. We have mixed feelings about Winney's quality. A lot of things have come loose, they just don't seem to tighten things properly on the assay. line. The Ford chassis seems to be pretty solid. Only problem with the chassis so far has been a loose sway bar attach bracket. Water leak coming from front cap. Driver side window water leak. Hot water heater works intermittent. Automatic electric transfer switch drops elec. power when on gen. Ceiling fan makes clicking noise. Carbon monoxide detector inop. Chassis battery failed. Antifreeze leak at hot water heater. Home Theatre Sys. shuts down by itself. LH camera inop. Vacuum problem with chassis air conditioner.
I'm not sure if I would own another one. Hope that helps.

I owned a Country Coach for over 10 years. Alas, they didn't survive the economic downturn, but while they were up and running they were considered one of the finest coaches on the market. The list of items in the last post would only be a drop in the bucket to the never-ending list of problems I had. Honestly, I couldn't take a trip without a full set of tools and the mfg. hotline on my cell phone.
I sold the Country Coach and bought a used '06 Adventurer over a year ago. I am pleasantly surprised with the quality of the Winnebago. Sure I miss the diesel and those big ole tires....grrrrrrrr. But, I frankly have never had to fix anything so for.
Anybody who buys a motor home should expect problems of one type or another. After owning a dozen or so motor homes over the past 50 years, I would recommend Winnebago over anything I have owned. For one thing, you know that you are dealing with a manufacturer who has a long tried-and-proven track record and a network of dealers and parts availability.

hi Rick & JoAnne
welcome to the forum
we're peter & larry
as you can tell from our signature, we have a 2009 suncruiser 35p. we bought it new in feb 2010.
yes, we had the usual break-in period with "this & that" needing repair (some minor, some not so minor).
on the whole, we are very happy with the the motorhome. we have yet to find a better floor plan. we have been full timing since july 2010.
regards, pdq

We are on our 2nd Adventurer, we bought our first new 2000 37G in 2000, had 10 great years. After finding a 2007 38T on our dealers lot, we fell in love with the floor plan, and purchased it in 2010. We enjoy the Winnebago fit and finish, and look forward to many more years.

Today the antifreeze leak at the water heater is so bad I can't us the coach. This RV is really wearing me out. All the people that excuse their RV problems are like the people that accepted US made auto's in the 60's & 70's. We need someone (Japanese) to start building RV's & show the current RV industry that quality products can be produced just as they made our automobile industry step up & produce fine cars.

Update. We did purchase a 2011 used Adventurer 35P with 7,000 miles on it back in March. We now have 11,500 miles and are very happy with our purchase. After living in it for the past 9 weeks (camp hosts in Glacier National Park) our Water pump has a small leak . That's it. We will get the pump servicesdin Missoula and the head for Desert Hot Springs. (Sands RV & Golf resort.

Hi Rick,
Congratulations on your purchase of a Winnebago Adventurer and I'm sure you will enjoy it immenseley. We have enjoyed ours since purchasing it new in 2004 but ours is a 33V.
The water leak you talk about may be just a fitting that is loose or the filter wasn't screwed on correctly. I'm sure it is an easy fix for sure.
Well enjoy your Adventurer in good health and there is a lot for you to see out there.
Good Luck!
