Windshield Wiper on Ellipse 42AD

Does anyone know how to adjust the total movement of the wipers on this bus? Yesterday they decided to increase their scope and now stick etc.

I looked under neath...no idea how they became out of adjustment.

Thanks in advance!

For the most part, on the units I've seen, the degrees of motion at the pivot point; base of the arm; is not adjustable. Only the arm length and the secondary angle control near the blade mount have any adjustment.
The arm may have come loose on the splines at the pivot, shifted over the curve of the windshield and stripped.
Look first at the lock screws on the blade end of the arm, check for loose screws and movement, paint pealed. If all seems ok there , remove the arm from the pivot and check for damaged splines on the arm, the pivot is steel , the arm is pot metal and will strip first, if the splines are gone, you'll have to find a new arm.
The next place where damage may occour is the bushings in the pivot it's self, check for wobble and up and down movement, then you have to go behind to the linkage from the motor to the pivot, the links there have end bushings that can wear out. But usually when they do they fall apart.
Hope it's only a loose screw.

Sorry, miss-read, if both wipers stick at the same time, check the mount at the motor and the first link in the mechanism, to make sure the nut that holds the first link to the motor isn't loose. Any slack at that point just amplifies through the rest of the linkage.

hmm...the motor has a non adjustable arm which rotates providing cam action to 2 fixed length metal arms which in turn push on a cam action at each wiper.
I see no adjustments to be made, but unbelievably the wiper moment action is larger than it has been in the last 2 1/2 years.
The assembly has no loose screws but I'm starting to think that I do lol.

Like addictions, admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery.
If the swipe of the wipers has moved to the outside of the coach, leaving a wider gap at the center, it would be possible to move the arms on the pivot splines and get them closer together.
Anything done to the coach? Windshield change ? Washed by someone other than you; that may have bent an arm ?

Unfortunately nothing new was done near the windshield. The overall movement has increased from about 3 oclock to 12 oclock to about 3:15 to 11:45! This causes the passenger wiper to hit the plastic shroud that covers the lower windshield joint.

Nothing is bent etc. I think I need to find another similar unit and take a comparison look.

So , you still have 90 degrees of wiper sweep, BUT it's not in the right spot.
Time to check the splines on the arms, could be out by 1 spline at the pivot.
