This and your sealant callout sheet should help (it's best to use Winnebago's specified sealant for your year and model):

In addition, many of us also apply Eternabond tape after sealing for additional protection. You can search this forum for more info on this ("Eternabond roof edge"). Here's one:

Eternabond tape should eliminate the need for annual re-sealing. I also use it around my roof penetrations, front and rear caps, etc. Some, especially those with full-body paint steer away from it for cosmetic reasons but, for older coaches like my 2002, I'm past that concern. Besides, if your roof is white and you do a neat job, it doesn't look at all bad.

Good luck.

I agree with Bob.

Here's my blog article about using Eternabond tape instead of resealing with caulking. Keep in mind that I don't think there's anything that will keep that roof snug inside that J channel if you repeatedly 'rack' the RV on an unimproved road getting to a favorite camping spot. Just sayin'.

Yes, after sealing use Eternabond Tape. I bought mine on Amazon. Lots of posts on how to apply. Surface must be clean, clean, clean.
