Soon to be new Winnie Plus 27RBDS Owner!
Hi All! My wife Lana and I will soon be taking delivery of a new 27RBDS. Looking forward to getting to know fellow Forum Members! We already have learned a lot from posts on this Forum. We appreciate the positive spirit and willing helpful information obvious in posts we have viewed.
We would appreciate any tips members could pass along on Minnie Plus units (receiving cautions at dealership, etc.), and towing a 30 foot unit. Our towing experience has been limited to a 21 foot Camplite, so a big move up for us. Our truck is a 2016 Tundra 5.7 engine with tow package, using a Blue Ox load leveling / sway control hitch.
Take Care, Larry

What’s your TV’s payload and gross weight capability? Betting you’re within specs.

Larry, your’s is more...sleek! 2101DSs and FBSs were 7 1/2 feet wide while the current 2106s are seven. Otherwise very close.

I was actually referring to the OP, he signed his post as Larry! We have a Winnie Larry club.
We also purchased a 27 RBDS recently.
I’m a complete newbie to TT ownership and appreciate your and all the info on this site. I’m not able to pass along much in the way of tips yet but hope to be using what I’ve learned on this site soon, and eventually share in return.
Thanks, Larry

This is our 4th year pulling our 27RBDS and have added some mods to make life easier. Really enjoy our unit.

Dealership just received our new 27RBDS and I got a to look it over today; really pumped up to get camping with it! Dealership has to do preps and checkout, so we don't get to pick it up until next Tuesday. Taking last camping trip in our Camplite this weekend.
LOL, Winnie Larry Club! Glad to be a part of it.
LarryW: TV payload capacity is 1365 lb in bed, 1010 lb hitch weight, gross combined weight 16,000 lb. We are comfortably within Tundra specs.
sd75mac: as time permits, would love to hear more about the mods you made on your unit. We have only camped about a year now, but did quite a few mods on our original unit. Some may not apply to our Winnies, but will be glad to pass some along if interest is there.
Thanks for the quick feedback guys, feels great to be welcomed like this!
Take Care, Larry

Winniehern: move the spare tire ( BAL - Innovative Products for the RV Industry)to under the TT, replaced the steps with MorRyde folding step ( The StepAboveā¢ is the Next Generation of RV Steps for Stable and Secure Footing. added a storage box in the empty space, replaced the plastice battery box with a lockable box ( https://www.torklift.com/rv/powerarmor)with a small solar panel to keep the battery fresh while in storage. That's just a few.
