New Member with1989 Winnebago Itasca Sunflyer Questions

Hi All,

Just stumbled on to your site and thought I would join up.

My name is Jeff and I'm from Australia. I caught the RV bug when I was in the States 2013 when we came over for some car racing at Texas...a friend had arranged to buy a Holiday Rambler which we picked up in Texas and made our way to Jacksonville where he shipped it home.
I have just purchased a 1989 Winnebago Itasca Sunflyer and looking to do my first trip soon.
There is not a lot of information in Australia on this model and would appreciate any help offered.

Best Regards,
Jeff

Hi Jeff,

Welcome to the forum. There is an Owner's forum at the top and they should be able to help you.

There are also manuals for every MH here so look around and find that and then you can print it off and take with you in your Itasca.

Peoples often contact the company even on used rigs and they usually help with any questions. I am sure E-mail would help there considering your location.

Enjoy your rig. Lot of people here with a lot of knowledge and they are always willing to help so ask away. Also a Vintage Owner's forum that could be of help.

G'day, Mate!
Enjoy your Itasca. I'm sure you'll find help on these forums for any of your questions.
And by all means send us a photo now and then of some of your camping expeditions in that "Dry and Sunburned Country!"

Welcome, I just bought an 89 Chieftain last friday, and am exploring it
I believe the Sunflyer, and Chieftain are very similar.
To make your generator run the house electric, you need to plug the cord into the matching plug in the compartment with the power cord,
That acts in place of a switch. Super safe and simple way to do it

if it is not running things there is a switch on the generator that turns on the juice from the generator.
Took me a few minutes to figure out, and find that secret switch.

Power converter is behind the passenger seat, in the floor.
Be glad to trade pictures and info with you, if you get hung up.
I am tracing some homeless vacuum tubing and have no clue where they go
