If you have the Xite system there is no easy answer.
First, those are available with a 6" dash monitor with a built in head unit OR they have a 10" dash monitor and a separate Core Unit (a computer actually) in an upper cabinet.
If you have the 6" kind then you can go to Crutchfield or a local car audio store and have it replaced with several Alpine, Kenwood, etc units. If you have the 10" screen you are pretty much locked into that system.
Riverpark was successful in installing these in Winnebagos, Newmars, Entegras and others. So, if you search
www.irv2.com for Xite replacement options you'll find a lot of threads on the subject. There are some that have had good success replacing the Xite systems.
We like our Xite System and are happy with the Rand McNally GPS.
Rand McNally went through bankruptcy and two corporate sales so Riverpark has changed to TomTom (NavNgo) GPS and you can upgrade to that but it costs about $1000 to do so.
Last month the Rand DOCK app that we use to update our software came out with the first update in 2-years. There were a lot of cosmetic changes but not much else. They claim that new maps are going to be coming "sometime."
Dmgoetz23, if you have not ever bothered to download the RAND DOCK application for your computer and kept your Rand McNally system updated that is a possible reason you don't like the system????
