Hello from Madison, Wisconsin!

My wife and I just sold our house and are looking to relocate to the PNW in April/May.

We are thinking we might try RV life for a year or so, and therefore have been considering a used RV.

The 30ish foot Minnie Winnies seem great. I think the ones with the bunkbeds on the slideout could make for a great spot to install an office desk, at the expense of losing said bunkbeds. Thoughts?

My wife has a very big concern about having the master bed be on a slideout because she's read many stories about cold air seeping in. And no...it's not worth trying to convince her otherwise!

So that's partly why we think a Minnie Winnie could be nice.

We also want to tow a vehicle behind. We have a small manual-shift Honda Fit which would be great, but I groan at having to open the front end to install some tow package. Ugh...any thoughts on that? Hurts the resale value of the car?

My ideal RV has a diesel but I guess the V10 ain't so bad. It eats up gas I'm sure, but maybe the cost of fuel isn't noticeable compared to a diesel? We probably won't be driving ALL the time once we're in Washington.

I’ll comment on one of your questions. Our bedroom slide out let’s in no noticeable cold air, and neither has any of the rigs we’ve rented that had one.
