2003 Winnebago Journey check engine light on

Hi everybody, I'm new to the site. My name is Dave. I have a 2003 Winnebago Journey 32'. It has a 300 hp 5.9 isb motor. My check engine light came on and I'm trying to determine what the problem is. I know on normal vehicles you can put a code reader on a plug under the dash. I have no idea where it would be on this coach. Does anyone know where to hook up the code reader, and where would I find out what the code means? Thanks!

So, "nofunRV" is your moniker? I remember back in college, I wrote to my dad when lack of funds was crimping my style and said this:

As for where the plug is. On my 07 Meridian its about half way down the steering wheel shaft on the left side. Can not help on what the codes mean. I know my engine light was coming on and off had it check turned out to the a EGR value issue.
