Basement Compartment Doors opening on the road
Hi I have a 2022 Winnebago Adventurer and have had a trunk door open when closed and locked. Verified 100% it was locked and checked again when it popped open after driving on a horribly bumpy Michigan road. Any adjustments I can make to ensure this doesn’t happen again. Huge road hazard should stuff spill out of the trunk.

Our problem was on a 2015 Vista that seemed to twist as we went across dips like at gas stations pulling off the road.
My eventual fix was to add bunie cords to the inside of the latch as a secondary to keep it from going too far out in traffic. It became part of the pre-flight to connect the bungies and check locking!
Putting small stuff in boxes was part of the plan but I always wanted a better plan!

I assume by trunk you mean basement doors. Check the clearance on the latches and bolts, you may need to move the latch closer to the door so the bolt engages the latch further.

Adjusting the latches was my first thought also but I messed with them so long and they still flew out in traffic, so I went with what I could depend on as it was way too scary to find they were prone to flying open as we stopped for traffic and came very close to whacking the car we were pulling up beside!
They tried to fly open as we went through those "tunnels" of concrete barriers in Houston!
When they unlatched, airflow kept them semi-closed and looking okay in the mirrows but momentum opened them as we braked!

Mine do this as well. Closed and locked and I can easily pull them open anyway and they fly open on the road.

If you want to install a back-up latch, check this one out: https://www.amazon.com/JR-Products-0...105766&sr=8-22
