heat and air question

I have a winnebago intent 26m,i know my ac will only work with it plugged in to 30 amp or genertor running, thought that was the same for the heat but left it on when we went out to the races and cut the generator off and turned the inverter on,came back hours later and realized the heat was on,so i guess its ok to run the heat with just the inverter on?
