Water Heater 2002 Adventure 35U

For those who have replaced an Atwood gch10a-3a with another heater what did you do if the exhaust did not line up with the hole in the compartment door? Or if you found one that did, what is the model number and where did you buy it? I have a 2002 Adventure 35u, and I don't really want to weld the tank. Seems to me that if there is one hole in it probably won't be long for another to show up.

It isn't the heater door that is the problem, my heater is behind a compartment door that has a cut out for the exhaust that does not line up with the exhaust on the replacement heater.

OK, so body panel door is the problem-. That's a job for a body shop.

A buddy of mine with an '04 Journey 39' just replaced his GCH10A-4E with a 6 gallon different version that he found had the burner exhaust in the same place as the one he replaced. Due to it being a bit smaller water heater, he had to elevate the mounting about as much as stacking two 2"x4"s on their sides. Everything else I think lined up pretty good. I don't know the model and specific criteria but I'll find out.
