1991 Winnebago Warrior: How to remove this transmission electric plug ?

Hello

Do you please know how to remove this electric plug from my transmission ?

I do not know what transmission model it is exactly but the engine is a 454 7.4L

Any help will be welcome as some gears are not passing it and it should come from this plug.

Thanks in advance.

Florent

In the very center is a torx drive. I'd suggest that is for turning the connector some partial turn and it will come out. Otherwise I do not know or have any experience with this.

Hello Barry

I tried this but it's too hard and I don't want to break this vital plug.

It should be very easy with the right knowledge but I saw many tutorials and none show the same plug.

I will try to ask on more specific Chevrolet owners forums and will share the solution if find.

I did some searching and could not find one like that. I'm guessing that you may have a 4l80 transmission, but I don't know if they used those in motor home applications or not.

Can't blame you for not turning it with a lot of force. There's bound to be someone that can give you the proper procedure. I think hitting the GM truck forums will find an answer.

That's a link to the trouble shooting guide for your transmission

That's a nice manual. I don't currently have a 4L80 but I'm saving it for future use.

It’s a 4L80e. That’s the pass thru connector to the trans solenoids and pressure switch assembly. You may have a leaky connector. They caused many problems but can be fixed with oil proof GE silicone. But you need to diagnose first. It’s probably been fixed with a new connector years ago. A scan tool or using a jumper from A to B on the ALDL under the dash (key on engine off). I think you need to get a manual online before spending money or drawing any conclusions.

Winnebago Camper, be aware that unless you have a good charge on the battery, it will not shift into higher gear. I discovered this on a 1996 Winnebago Adventurer on the way to the transmission shop. While in route, the battery charged enough to power the transmission and it worked great. I simply turned around and took her back home.

Thanks a lot for all your help.

I said it should be this plug because it was already fixed and the guy at the garage said : it was this plug that was dirty and oily.

It was on the road and I forgot at this time to ask him how to....

Thanks again for the manual : very useful but the connectors should be militarized for this vehicule: I will explore it deeply.

Maybe you have the same US Army manual for the 454 engine ?

I got one but it's a very old pdf manual.

Thanks again to all of you guys.
