Slide Topper for 2401rg

Just purchased a 2401rg in November and brought it home and covered it up for the winter. Put the cover on as the snow fell here in Ontario so it's going to be a long winter waiting to get on the road. I would like to order a slide topper to have for spring can anyone give me the size topper I need for the 2401 and a brand recommendation. Looks like the installation would be fairly straight forward but any advice there would be appreciated as well.
Thanks so much.

Give these folks a look. RV Slide-Out Topper Awning Replacement Fabric Installation

We replaced both our slide covers using their product. Really like them. Piece of cake to install. Could be a one man job (one person job - forgot you are a northern neighbor ), but easier with two.

Their site has all of the measuring info and installation videos, and they are very responsive if you call. Your cover will be custom made. Reasonable cost. Many colors We paid $304 last spring for a 16 ft and a 10 foot (approx) slide cover.

Kev, in August I bought this Solera 8.5' slide topper from Amazon for our 2250DS. It took about an hour to install for two of us. The with of the outside of the black frame on our Minnie is 95.5". Here are some photos. Make sure you buy a roll of butyl sealing tape. You can install the long aluminum anchor at the top and the end brackets on the slide before you need any help. Here is a good installation video.

Thanks Bigbird65.
I think that's the one I will go with. Just have to get out there and measure my slide.
Good tip on the butyl ether tap.

Kev, I installed a Solera slide topper on our 2101DS and recently on the 2250DS. It certainly keeps you from having to clean off the slide of debris and pine cones before putting it in. The Solera is high quality.

BigBird, if you don't mind me asking, where did you get the butyl tape? I got some last year for installing new roof vents and gulped pretty hard when one of the local auto parts store charged $30+ for a 10 ft roll.

WOW, that is pretty steep. Go to Home Depot.

I installed a topper on our 2106FBS the only time I needed help was putting the cloth into the top channel. While the wife fed the bead I held the main roller. It took a bit longer than I expected and a little muscle to get the support bars aligned to the brackets. I probably could have gone faster but I didn't want any extra holes. The only suggestion I have is to hand tighten all of the screws as the aluminum tubes you mount the hardware to is thin.

I bought my butyl tape at a nearby Camping World. It was more than the Home Depot link but was ten bucks and some change. I wish I had thought of HD as the grey would go well with the gray sides on the trailer.

The

Thanks old engineer.
Good to hear first hand that it's not to difficult to install. Only had our trailer for a couple weeks before we put a cover on it. Looking forwarde to spring and getting some things done. A topper is at the top of the list as well as fine tuning our WD Hitch, dealer did a lousy job of it.
