When I was winterizing my 26RBSS it was suggested that I push in my fresh water check valve to allow antifreeze to come through. Unfortunately when I did that it became damaged. It looks easy enough to replace the intake in the spring but I wonder how necessary this is. If I understand it’s purpose it keeps water from leaking when you use the fresh water tank. It seems to me that I could use a male cap or an inlet with a open/close valve on it and accomplish the same purpose. Also thought of using a quick connect too. If I’m off base here please advise. If I’m right I won’t be depending on that flimsy plastic check valve again.
Bought this from Amazon to put on the city water intake. Removed flimsy plastic check valve and will just shut this valve off when not on city water. Should also help when winterizing to allow antifreeze to come out and then turn off valve. Cheaper than replacing the intake and should be permanent.
That’s about the same as my Amazon purchase and it was drinking water safe. For some reason my picture didn’t post. Good to know if my item fails. I couldn’t find it at Home Depot. Thanks
