A little late to the thread, but:

We tow our FXL 2108ds with a 2014 Mercedes ML350 Bluetech. We have a WDH. For this trailer we are using a Curt Echo wireless trailer brake controller. We used a Tekonsha trailer brake controller on our last trailer but the Curt Echo seemed a much easier install. It took a bit of fiddling to adjust the braking level to a comfortable level (not to grabby, not to under braking) but it works great for us. No problem with the bluetooth connection, unlike the Tekonsha which was a problem to get connected initially but once connected worked fine.

We've only had our 2108ds trailer since October, but we have towed in some decent winds in February (in Arizona) and found the setup to be rock solid. We towed a longer trailer of approximately the same weight in the past and if I were to get a longer trailer in the future, I'd want a longer tow vehicle based on my experience with the previous trailer.

Just my 2 cents.

that is great news! We have a 2014ML 350 4matic also but the gas version as a TV, the wife was hoping that worked well so we didnt have to take the truck on our trips with the camper!

when you tow are you doing so with the tanks empty or just with freshwater for weight purposes?
