Lug Nut Covers

I’m going to be getting a new set of tires for my 2014 Winnebago View (2013 Sprinter chassis). My rig has Alcoa aluminum rims. I understand that the lug nut covers are reusable only if they are removed and reinstalled correctly. Has anyone experienced a lose of these lug nut covers after the wheels were removed? Replacements on Amazon are $36 for 5! Ouch!

Double ouch, because each wheel has 6 studs. At least the 2017 models do.

I guess that explains why I had 6 stolen off of mine.
