Tv Wall mounting 2013 Sightseer

Hi, my bedroom tv in my 2013 Sightseer died. My new 24 in Vizio does not fit in the original Sightseer tv wall mount. Can I use a standard mount and just screw it in the wall. I do not feel comfortable in doing this because I dont know if the screws will hold because the new mounts screws do not line up in the same area of the wall with the original mounts screw holes. . I will install it on the same outside wall area the original tv was installed. I am assuming that this wall will accept screws since it is the same area the old tv mount was screwed into. Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

Jay, we need to know more about the TV that doesn't work. How is it installed?

Usually, Winnebago makes a custom metal mount for their TVs and even though it's not really standardized the TV mounted to it has standard holes for mounting. Why can't you use those holes? Was the original TV much smaller and that's why the new TV won't fit there?

You are right you can't just install it in any wall. But please explain why you can't install it in the exact same place/mount of your existing TV?

A photo of the TV, the mount, etc would be worth... 1,000 words at least.

Here's my experience with the TV mount: My bedroom TV was hard mounted with screws to a big metal plate. So, I used the holes in the big metal plate to attach a standard VESA TV mount to the plate and attached my TV to that.

Dr. Jay, your Profile says you have a 2013 Sightseer - and every one of your prior posts say you have a 2013 Sightseer. Except this one which says you have a 2023 Sightseer. Which is it??? If we knew we could be of more help.

We don't know if it's a typo or if you got a new Sightseer.

I'm guessing it's a typo, because it doesn't seem they make the Sightseer model for 2023.

I used a regular mount on my new TV in the salon and also the same in bedroom. In other words, I've replaced both TVs with standard mounts.

The new TVs are MUCH lighter and have posed no problems over the last 5 years or so. I was able to screw into the wall studs to hold them up. I used robust rivets in the remaining holes on the TV mounts.

I had a similar problem with tv mounts in a different mfg. class A. What I did was to attach the new mount to a piece of 3/4 plywood. I then attached the plywood to the wall using the same wall studs as the original tv mount did.

Even though the new tvs are lighter my concern was when traveling they take alot of bouncing around . I wanted to make sure they were secured.

Good Luck
