Nightstand upgrade, Vista 32YE

The king bed in our 2018 Vista has a nightstand on each side to set your glasses, earbuds, or other odds and ends on when you go to sleep. The problem is when you get up in the middle of the night to pee, the bed covers often knock stuff off the nightstand and stuff falls under the bedroom slide. It's a real PIA to fish stuff from under the bedroom slide, so I decided to make a nightstand rack to hold magazines, iPad, headphones, ear buds, glasses, etc. I thought someone might like to see this to duplicate, if they have the same issues as me. My wife has one for her side too.

Nice Work!

As a couple who have done many changes to our rig, (our guiding principle is that, regardless of what you buy, it is someone else's dream - make your dream) we enjoy seeing others' improvements.

Hard to be sure, but from the color, grain and that green streak in the book rack bar looks to be poplar. Our favorite maple stand in wood. You got a good color match. What stain did you use?

Yes, it's poplar, good eye. I like working with it because it has no knots and it's cost effective. Matching the stain color took some time. I had to mix golden oak with maple, I think. It took about 5 mixes to get it right. I've actually installed 6 drawers in this rig, so I have an advantage of my past experience matching stain colors.
