Help! Sightseer slide stuck out??
My dad has a 2011 Winnebago Sightseer 33C. I put the slides out yesterday to do a little work on the inside. When I went to close it back up, the passenger side living room slide (sofa area) won't come back in? I tried the lock and unlock slide switch and that was in the unlock position? It does make any noise little it jamed or anything, just doesn't do anything? Not sure what else to try? Is there a fuse or breaker for each slide out? This RV has 3 slides and the other 2 work fine.

On those slide lock switches you hold down the lock/unlock rocker switch and listen to the lock motor to unlock. I assume you know this but your post made it sound like it was a simple on / off type switch.
I have heard of folks that have had the lock motor fail and they were not able to unlock the slide.
There a so many possible things that can make a slide malfunction that after trying all the easy stuff you might need to call a mobile RV tech. They usually see a lot of slide issues in their daily rounds.

The slide lock works on a worm gear. If the lock isn't fully disengaged the limit switch may not be activated. Try to engage the lock by holding it in the lock position until it stops moving, the do the same thing the other way by holding it in the unlock position. Hope that helps.

Try running the chassis engine while attempting to bring the slide in. Kinda sounds like a dead battery.
Check the following: On the driver's side basement compartment (where the LP gas tank is located) there's a panel just above the gas tank with two twist-off door latches. Remove and you'll see the pop-out circuit breakers for the slide room. If the pax side breaker is out, push it in to reset.
See page 2 of the diagram for further troubleshooting.

It's not a dead battery, Both the other slides work fine on these batteries. Checked all the breakers and that's not it.
Tried pushing the unlock / lock switch back and forth several times. You can hear they are working.
When I push and hold the slide in buttons it just blinks on and off, slowly, 5 seconds between blinks?

Looking at the drawings for the slide, I find a hint of an inline fuse that may need to be checked!
Drawings here from sheet three for location:
https://www.winnebago.com/Files/File...ire_175627.pdf
Sheet seven for the details of the mech, which shows wires "SSN and WWN"
Looking at the wire ID chart here:
https://www.winnebago.com/Files/File...ical_guide.pdf
We find this info for wire WWN.
Click these drawings to get a better view!
I did not spot the location for this fuse but I would start with looking at the two pin plug for the lock control and then find the fuse if there is no power to the control?

I had a mobile mechanic look at it today and he said I need to replace both slide out motors and then go from there? He said he removed my controller from the slide that is working and tried switching it to the slide that is stuck. That didn't do anything.
Where do I buy motors?

It’s almost impossible for both motors to fail at the same time. I can’t see from the picture, but my slide with dual motors was doing the same thing. The manual showed a small hole in the panel where a toothpick could be inserted to “resync” the motors. Push and hold and that brought mine back to life.
Have a look for that and report back.

I agree with gregoryd73, both motors sound fishy. If you haven't removed the cover and checked those switches (see morich's diagram), pull that cover off and make sure a switch didn't come loose.

I would search for what might go wrong using this slide without the engine running. I was trained to always start the engine before using slides on my 2013.

Hi,
According to the Owner's Manual for my 2011 ITASCA IFE30W, the motorhome's engine should be running when operating the slides.

Slide out fixed!!
Well made a mobile RV tech tell me I need to buy two new slide out motors. $900 each. Said he would start by replacing the motors first and go from there? I told him thanks anyway and sent him on his way. Got another mobile RV tech to come out and look at my RV and he found this (see attachment) in the owners manual. Tried it and it fixed it!! I'm happy that it's fixed, but I feel so stupid for not reading that first.

You should feel good about yourself, at least you were smart enough to NOT pay $1800.00 for new motorss

When we deal with repair and find the first "guess" also happens to be about the most expensive guess, I recommend getting a better guesser!
That is what separates the real tech from the guy just taking the money an wandering around like a duck!
There are very few electrical things on our RV which can't be tested without much trouble if we know where those access points are found. To test the motors, there are cables plugged into the control and using a meter we can see if the motor wiring is good or not----but the guy has to look, not just start with changing the two most expensive items and going from there!

Reminds me of the old medical school advice:
"When you hear hoofbeats behind you, don't expect to see a zebra".
and, Occam's Razor (paraphrased):
"The simplest explanation is usually the best one."

SuperDad, I definitely would never call that "mobile mechanic" again!
