No charge to batteries
Having problems with house batteries. They wouldn't hold charge. Replaced with new batteries same thing. There seems to be no charge going to the house batteries. Any help would be appreciated. I'm currently in fort wilderness.

bobbyl, had similar problem on our last trip. Had new house batteries installed. Tech did not plug in cord to converter. By 8:00 following evening all lights dimmed out. Hope this helps.

It starts out at 12.8 volts and continues to drop. These are new batteries. It seems there is no charge going to them. Did the same with the old batteries.

Did you check the circuit breakers on the converter?

I've looked this thing over and can't even find the converter. I've looked in all the bays and under the bed.

If I run the coach it will charge the batteries but they won't last over 6-8 hours before I get low dc volts on the refrig.

Short story: Just read a post by someone who installed a new dash radio on his RV and suddenly the chassis battery was dead Re-charged and it was dead again After much trouble shooting it took it to dealer who turned off the light he'd left on and fixed it.

I believe there are some ckt breakers below in one of the bays probably near the steps or in the battery compartment...also I presume you have the battery disc switch turned "on" while plugged in?
You should be reading ~13.6 volts on your house batteries when you are on shore power or with the generator running.

OK so you need to find the ckt breaker for the converter....should be with all of the other 110v ckt breakers.
Try calling WGO in the AM if you can not determine where the ckt breakers are located:

Ok thanks. Help me here. There is an inverter which shows green light on the panel board. This inverts 12v to 110. The converter converts 110 to 12 v to charge the battery.....right?

To find the converter - they are often under the frig or stove. Try removing the bottom drawers in the galley area.

Hi,
On my 2004 Winnwebago adventurer the circuit breakers are under the top step. The vertical panel of carpet comes off and there is a medal panel behind it with all the circuit breakers.
Behind the medal plate there are 2 solenoids which flip the batteries from engine alternator to shore power converter. That solenoid should click when yo operate Battery switch.
In my 04 the converter was under the bottom drawer in the kitchen. You had to pull the drawer to get at it. There you can measure the 13.6 volts.
Another test you may try is to hold emergency start switch(located on dash) and see if you have voltage at the batteries
Lastly you can go to the Winnebago website and download the electrical wiring diagram for you coach or even call Winnebago at 1-800-537-1885 and give them your coach serial number and I'm sure they will help you.
Good Luck!

Are you sure you have a converter? The larger model inverters (2KW) also contain the charger and there is no inverter...

Yes, you are correct....the converter also has a charging aspect in it as well...so when you are on shore power do you have 12v working in your coach? Even with the batteries turned off? IF you do then the converter is working but the charger is not...If you turn off the house batteries and you lose your 12v then the converter is not working as well...still need to find that dang ckt breaker for the converter.
