I can't imagine why the charging system would care ...the primary question to me would be "will they fit?" If so, there should be no problem.

As far as battery groups go, 12v is 12v, so your charging system won't care about different groups as long as they are 12v.
However, battery TYPES makes a big difference. If your current battery type is wet cell (maintenance free or water fillable), then your charger is probably setup to charge those correctly. So if you replace your batteries with a type DIFFERENT than what is in there now, you'll need to make really sure your charger is set correctly for charging those types of batteries.
That info should be in your users manual. I would recommend some good research as you look for replacements.

If you stick with the usual wet batteries (non gel or AGM), then your primary considerations are physical size (will the battery fit the space) and where the terminals are located (side or top.)
If you are replacing the house batteries, then you want quality deep cycle types.

Hi darthdriver,
If I remember correctly, our Adventurer had the batteries under the steps and there was room for two Group 31's for the house as well as the one for the engine. More is better, bigger is better. I'm a big believer in as much house battery as you can afford. The more Amp. hour capacity you have the shallower each discharge cycle will be and the longer the set of batteries will last.

The larger size batteries will easily fit.

I have an 2004 Adventurer 37B. I don't know if the tray is the same or not, but I changed my batteries out to group 29. That is the biggest that I can get in there. I have not looked to see if I can change the layout to another orientation to get bigger batteries in.
