Agree with the other posters; your fix is better'n OK.....it looks GREAT.
I had to add a mending plate (similar to yours) to mount a new cargo bay door latch to......in an area where it "doesn't show" and I used "Epoxy for Plastic/Fiberglass" to mount the plate + "pop rivets" for mechanical strength. It all worked well.....but your repair is way "better lookin' "
..... and it is obviously better than new.
BTW.... thanks for the pics. We all love them (even sideways)
