Basement A/C trouble as well??
My 04 journey has basement ac and over the weekend camping it was warm outside so fired up the gen and turned on the ac. The gen revved to 50 amps and then died repeatedly and no breakers tripped?

throbbin367, turn off the two breakers going to the AC unit. Then turn the breakers on one at a time to see which compress is causing the problem. Hopefully it is just the start capacitor.

I tried doing that and number 2 compressor did nothing but number 1will kill the gen. I found a manual that says number 2 is just extra and number 1 compressor runs the ac and heat pump

throbbin367, yes I just looked at the drawing and circuit #1 supplies the control voltage to the circuit board. Look in the control box and see if any of the start capacitors look swelled or burned.

I found the control panel and my owners manual. The start capacitors look fine but the plugs on top look a little burnt. The green LED on the board is flashing, I have a feeling that's not good, I need to read through the manuals to see if they say anything.

Your compressor start caps should be black, the little square attachment on top is the PTCR, which removes the start cap from the circuit after compressor starts up.
I would swap the start cap and PTCR from the #2 compressor to number 1. With the compressor #2 breaker off, see if #1 will run.
Make sure all breakers are off prior to swapping.

That's a good idea, I can try that tonight after work and see if it changes anything. Going to call Coleman Mach service and see if they can tell me anything

High amps & killing the generator when attempting to start ...I would say the #1 compressor is locked up.

I was guessing that to. I read through the trouble shooting on the owners manual and the green light I saw blinking fast means there's a problem. It also says to trouble shoot it you jumper two wires and if the compressor turns on the pc board is bad. So I tried it on my lunch break and it looks like I'm buying a new pc board. I'm still going to call the service line to confirm this

Did the compressor start when you jumpered the wires?
In cooling mode, #2 compressor will not run unless #1 is running first.
Spiking to 50amp indicates a locked compressor or your start capacitor circuit is bad. The compressor will not start without it.
If the pc board attempts to start the #1 compressor I would not think it to be bad.
My troubleshooting guide points to an open indoor coil thermister if the green light flashes fast. But if this was the case the compressor would not try to start.

My trouble shooting manual said the same thing about the green light and thermistor, but it also said to jump across the circuit and try it and if it works replace the board

If the compressor starts when you jump the thermister you need to replace the thermister. It is in the low voltage circuit to run the compressor.
I would swap out the start capacitors and see if the #1 compressor runs.
