I hear you, but eventually the new will get yellow too... Painting is a more permanent solution. As far as the topper, I do see and agree that other RV's don't have them but??? You have to be careful...

Just to follow-up I taped the sides and spray...

Just to follow-up I taped the sides and spray painted the vinyl strips with Plastic spray paint it's been a while and no yellowing..

No, the sides of the RV look as good as new no discoloration and match very well with the caps. The white strips are the rubber/vinyl tape that cover the screws that hold...
