Curious, does your handle have wording on it? Itasca? Ellipse? If it said Itasca I might look for one to replace mine. I would have mine working just like yours, whenever the overhead porch light...

I saw a thread on here where you can add an LED light in the upper chrome section of the handle that illuminates the handle.
