Unfortunately I cannot cut anything off the slide trim as the rubber seal is on the outer edge. I don't want to play with that.

It is a Napoleon electric fireplace EFL32H and they can be looked up online. I was fortunate to get mine thru a dealer friend. It is the thinnest that I have been able to find also.

I am aware and slightly concerned about any movement of the slide as it is brought in. If I can gain 1/2 inch extra room, I think I will be fine. If needs be, the glass front comes off very easily...
