Winnebago On Sunnybrook Option
Just wondering if anyone has heard the latest on Winnebago possibly going after the Sunnybrook line to augment their motorhome business?

As of recent press we've seen that Winnebago is intending on acquiring Sunnybrook. I hope to be able to get more information about this "deal" next week while at the RVIA Exposition. Who knows, there might even be a towable sitting in the Winnebago/Itasca exhibit.
I know that Sunnybrook does have their own exhibitor space, #5010, in the West Wing of the complex. I expect that this is going to be the BIG question of the day over there that Sunnybrook reps are going to have to repeatedly address.

When we were attending the Louisiana State WIT Rally in Rayne late in October, WIT GM Doug Formanek addressed this. One company declaring an "Intent to Purchase" is an initial legal hurdle whereby Co. A is given access to Co. B's financial statements for determination as to whether Co. A may indeed want to purchase Co. B. This does not mean there is a commitment to buy; it is just a first step in the process.

If not at the RVIA Expo, we may hear something soon because initial press release stated Winnie hoped to have aquisition finalized by end of calendar year.

Ding-a-ling,
Well stated. I was also at the LA State Rally. I am surprised there has not been more discusion of this move by Winnebago. I noted THOR purchased a trailer company and now Winnebago follows suit! It would certainly help the new generation that already has a large truck and want the toy haulers to take the whole family on an action packed trip. It is not the calm campfire we all enjoyed but certainly what the younger generation want. I think this is a good thing for Winnebago and very glad they picked such a fine company.
Let us know if you hear more.

This very situation was in the works several years back and never brought to fruition. Some of you might remember Winnebago did have a trailer line back in the 60's.

We had a Sunnybrook travel trailer for over a decade before we got our Itasca, it was passed down to our son and is still being used by him. It's looking a little long in the tooth but still beats laying on the ground!
