Automatic step deactivation 2006 Minnie Winnie M30V

Just bought a 2006 minnie winne m30v. Love it! Just one quick question. The wife has a bad knee and has problems with steps. Is there a way to keep the automatic step retracted so I can put a foldable 2 step with platform to doorway so she doesn’t have to take all 5 steps at once?

On many rigs there's a rocker switch just inside the door - often with a red tab on it that controls the step action. If in your rig - find the position that accomplishes what you want by opening and closing the door. An alternative is to pull the power wire off the step motor (go underneath the steps) or pull the fuse.

An alternate might be to work with the magnetic switch at the lower side of the door.
A magnet there keeps my door from sending the steps out while I work under the door.
Be aware there are several things that trigger the door, like starting the engine or opening the door. Do some testing to assure it is doing what you want ALL the time!
I think a magnet will stop it some of the time but maybe starting the engine it still flies out!
Possibly removing one wire or tie the two wires together will stop it sensing the door but still move when you start the engine!
