I doubt either one is digital ready. I have a 2005 Vectra and neither is digital ready. Check the remote for the TV does it have a "." on it. If it doesn't have a period "." key it's not digital ready.

If your front TV is actually a 27" model you do NOT have the original TV. The 2004 Adventurer 38G came with a Sony 24" flat screen TV.

In an '04 Digital is iffy
Try this.. Look at your remote do you see
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-0 Analog
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-0-"-" or
1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-0-"." Likely digital
Now try to tune in a station like 8-1 If the display actually shows 8-1 or 8-01, then it's digital, it's that simple.

My '07 Voyage is a NO! Rats. And shame on Winnie for continuing to by the old analog sets when everyone knew the digital conversion was coming.

It sounds as if the front was retrofitted if it's a flat panel LCD. When you said '27" flat screen,' is that what you meant?
In my 07 Meridian, I have a Sony 24" flat screen CRT ...the old tube type but at that time they called them "flat screens" but that shouldn't be confused with a flat panel LCD. Mine's just an old CRT tube type with a flat screen.
And not all flat panel LCDs are equipped with digital tuners either as my bedroom TV is an LCD but not digital
Yes, Craig, I understand your frustration with Winnebago but on-the-other-hand, I can also understand what was probably happening. They probably had purchased hundreds of the old TVs (or had a contract to) and their plan specs all called for them so it would have been a bad business decision on their part if they spent the extra money to re-engineer all the plans, get rid of all their stock, and buy new digital flat panel TVs. I believe they did go with all digital TVs in the model year 2008.

I'm confused. I have an Itasca Suncruiser 38R which I believe is the higher priced spread alternative to the Adventurer. I have the original Sony TV. I've always watched DirecTv with no problems. My confusion arises from the fact that I thought the digital aspect pertained to the receiving system (antenna, etc) as opposed to the actual TV. Anyway, I have no problem with my setup and digital reception.

Digital TV from over the air (antenna) broadcast will only work with a converter box or a newer tv that has a digital tuner. The new "digital tv's" have 2 tuners. One for analog broadcast or cable without a cable box. and one for the digital over the air broadcast that is suppose to happen in June. I have direct tv and that will not be affected however as we travel we like to watch the "local/over the air" tv stations. So I either have to have a converter box or a new tv.

My wife and I just purchased a new digital tv for our unit.
While camping at Pokagon St. Park (N.E. Indiana) I raised the antenna
and switched on the amplifier. Both of which I believe are original
equipment. And was only able to get 1 channel. Now Being close
to Ft.Wayne, In. Battlecreek, Mi. and South Bend, In. I would have
thought I would of had at least a dozen stations. Will my old
amp and antenna still work with receiving and boosting the
digital signals?

Christoph,
Did you go through a scan of TV stations to see what is available? Most new TVs have this function in their menu function. If your TV has a digital tuner, it should have a "." or "-" symbol on the remote since the stations now broadcast multiple channels for a particular channel number - e.g. 8.1, 8.2, 8.3, etc. The channel search function will find all of these when you activate it.
Second, Wineguard now has an inexpensive addition to the batwing antenna for digital TV. It is a UHF antenna that snaps on to the existing batwing antenna. It retails around $30.00 at most camping or RV supply stores, and is easy to install. From what I've heard, it does a good job increasing the gain of the batwing antenna for the digital channels.
Hope this helps.

If you want locals for you new location call DirecTV and tell them to turn off your home locals and turn on the locals for your current location. I've done this many times.
I never use the roof off air antenna.
