It is a gray automotive connector, and I believe it was male. Coming out of the back of the connector were about four or five wires that had a wire label tag around them marked Brake...

On my 05 Journey the brake controller connector...

On my 05 Journey the brake controller connector and harness were near the steering column, and was clearly marked. It wasn't in a plastic bag and wasn't anywhere near the CB wires. Hope that helps. ...
