So have my Vectra back, the windshield frame rebulit and new windshield installed. Now hoping that the new steel with heavy priming will work better than the original. Wallet lighter but perhaps...

The nasty problem is that you CAN'T tell you have the rust issue by casual inspection, be it PDI or whatever. Only once the trim and windshield is removed and the butyl or whatever is scraped away...

Well, I just got bit by the windshield rust problem. Rock thrown by truck broke driver's side. Parts ordered, insurance claim, etc.

Sitting here in Elkhart, had the windshield removed, but...
