UPDATE.... Thanks again everyone for helping in one way or another. I bought ANOTHER solenoid (took 2 weeks to get the part.. long story not my doing) and installed it and no difference... didnt...

Thanks... The one's I have been buying looks exactly like the original which lasted more than 20 years. I put it in the exact same position so that shouldnt be the problem. But we shall see.......
