A set of lithium batteries cost about the same as two sets of lead acid and last twice as long, lithium also tolerates long periods of storage.

If you can afford it, go with a pair of lithium batteries. They are way lighter and can be discharged more than lead acid's recommended 50% (a 230 Ah lead acid is effectively a 115 Ah battery)...
