Reminded about this HWH Pump-Motor ground...

Reminded about this HWH Pump-Motor ground problem, I decided to remove the top 7mm bolt that holds connects the pump-motor to the HWH block-manifolds and I added a separate ground wire.

Can anyone describe how this pump works; what activates it; and how to test/diagnose a bad motor?

I would assume there is also a relay that needs to be checked and/or a reset-fuse located...
